7:00-8:30pm March 24th
Join us on Thursday, March 24th, 7:00-8:30-PM, as we welcome Dave Pickerell Master Distiller of WhistlePig. Dave will lead a special tasting under the tent in the center of the store, featuring four unique rye whiskey expressions.
Dave, a luminary in the world of whiskey, is one of the nation's preeminent master distillers. Before joining WhistlePig, he spent 14 years as the Master Distiller for Maker's Mark in Kentucky. He joined the WhistlePig team with a simple (yet astoundingly complex) objective: create the finest rye whiskey.
Here is the tasting line-up:
Whistle Pig 10 Year Rye
Whistle Pig 10 Year Rye Canal's Family Single Barrel Selection
Whistle Pig 12 year Old World Madeira
Whistle Pig 12 year Old World (Madeira, Sauternes, Port ) Double Gold -San Francisco Spirits Competition 2015
A surprise
Starting at 7:00 PM, we will pour four rye expressions as Dave leads a discussion about the history of rye and his quest to make the world's finest rye whiskey.
This is a fabulous opportunity to meet this renowned master distiller as you taste along with him and appreciate the various rye expressions side by side. Join us on March 24th at 7pm to deepen your knowledge and understanding of rye whiskey, the fastest growing whiskey segment in the industry.
Some of the ryes you will be tasting are limited, which means we were allocated only a few bottles of each. They are special and there just isn't enough to go around. The evening's attendees will have first crack at purchasing bottles before the general customer release. Even within this intimate group, there still isn't enough to go around. Inorder to ensure fairness for those of you who are interested in purchasing bottles, we have devised a lottery to parse out what little we have. Since the master distiller will be here to present his whiskey, Dave has offered to personally sign your bottle.
A light tasting fare will be provided to enhance the tasting experience. However, it is not intended to serve as a meal. So, Please have dinner before you attend this event.
The event begins promptly at 7:00 PM.
The Wine Department hopes to see you there!
Please drink responsibly.
