Please join us as we welcome Lew Bryson Managing editor for Whiskey Advocate Magazine (1996-2016). Lew has been one of the great voices of the Magazine for over 20 years. Through his column and whiskey reviews he has developed a great following. He has published numerous books, presented and lectured at various national conventions and is an award winning journalist.
Lew will lead a very special tasting under the tent in the center of the store, featuring limited/rare and in many cases impossible to find bourbons.
We also welcome Executive Chef David Wiederholt owner David & Sons Meat Shop, Swedesboro, NJ. Chef David graduated from The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park NY, and has been at the helm of several notable restaurants around the country including, The Capital Grille and Butcher & Singer Philadelphia, Union Square Cafe NYC, Hawthorne Lane and Globe, San Francisco.
To help complement the evening, Chef David will create a six course tasting menu paired to bring out the best in each bourbon. This is a light tasting fare intended to enhance the bourbon experience and not intended to serve as a meal. So, please have dinner before you attend this event.
Some of the bourbons you will be tasting are extremely limited, which means we were allocated only a few bottles. They are special and there just isn't enough to go around.
The evening's attendees will have first crack at purchasing bottles before the general customer release. Even within this intimate group, there still isn't enough to go around. In order to ensure fairness for those of you who are interested in purchasing bottles, we have devised a lottery to parse out what little we have. Lew has also offered to personally sign bottles.
Attendees will also be the first to taste the pre-release of our latest bourbon barrel finished Exit 1 Oyster Stout from Flying Fish.
Starting at 7:00 PM, Lew will lead a discussion about the history of bourbon and it's different expressions and styles. We will pour six bourbons personally selected by Lew for this tasting.
This is a fabulous opportunity to meet Lew as you taste along with him and appreciate these unique bourbons. Join us on November 10th at 7pm to deepen your knowledge and understanding of this illusive brown spirit.
This is a ticketed event. Tickets will be sold ONLINE ONLY and on a first come first serve basis. Unfortunately, seating is very limited and this event will sell out quickly.
